The Big Idea: Praise spontaneously breaks out in heaven as Christ returns to establish His eternal rule.

 

I.                   Heaven Rejoices – vv. 1-10.

A.    God has judged His enemies / God’s judgments are true and just – vv. 1-4.

B.     God is reigning – vv. 5-6.

C.     The bride is ready – vv. 7-10.

II.                The Lord Returns – vv. 11-21.

A.    The Conqueror

         i.      Riding on a white horse – v. 11

         ii.      He was called “Faithful” and “True” – v. 11.

         iii.      His purpose was to ride with justice and go to war – v. 11.

         iv.      His eyes are like fiery flames – v. 12.

         v.      His head had many crowns on it – v. 12.

         vi.      His name is only known to Self – v. 12.

         vii.      He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood – v. 13.

          viii.      He is called the Word of God – v. 13.

           ix.      He was followed by the heavenly armies dressed in white, clean, fine linen riding white horses – v. 14.

           x.      A sharp sword extends from His mouth, with which He can strike the nations – v. 15.

           xi.      His purpose is to rule/conquer the nations and deliver the judgment of the All-Powerful God – v. 15.

           xii.      His name written on His clothing and thigh is King of kings and Lord of lords – v. 16.

B.     The conquest – vv. 17-21.

           i.      The beast and the false prophet – condemned to the lake of fire – v. 20.

           ii.      The world leaders and their armies – obliterated – v. 21.
